Pacific Division Wins NHL All-Star Game

Andrew Mazza is an experienced New Jersey-based chef who worked as a sous chef at Eat Clean Bro, where he ran a kitchen with more than 30 employees. Outside of his professional pursuits, Andrew Mazza of New Jersey enjoys playing and watching hockey.

The National Hockey League (NHL) held its annual All-Star Game on January 25 and the Pacific Division team won the four-team tournament by defeating the Atlantic Division 5-4 in the final game. Playing in his first All-Star Game, Tomas Hertl scored the game-winning goal for the Pacific Division, which scored a 10-5 semifinal victory over the Central Division to advance to the final. The Atlantic Division, meanwhile, advanced after beating the Metropolitan Division 9-5. David Pastrnak scored three goals in that game as well as one in the final and was named All-Star Game MVP.

The NHL has used the 3-on-3 tournament format for the All-Star Game five times now and the Pacific Division has won three of those five years. It also won in 2016 and 2018. Players on the winning team split the $1 million prize.

Other memorable moments over All-Star Weekend included an on-ice performance by Green Day, Matthew Barzal upsetting Connor McDavid in the fastest skater competition, and the first-ever Elite Women's 3-on-3 game featuring the best Canadian and American women hockey players.
